Steve's Sexy Sunglasses

I was looking for excuse to post more photos of Steve McQueen and since he always wore Persol sunglasses, what better time than after my Silver Lining Opticians post! Steve always looked sexy and even more so in sunglasses. Sigh.

Mr. Crown

The dune buggy photos of Jude Law in the Dunhill advertising made me think of The Thomas Crown Affair. Not the 1999 remake with Pierce Brosnan and Renee Russo, although I like that one too, but the 1968 original version that starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. While most of Faye's costumes and hairstyles look pretty dated, Steve McQueen and his handsome bespoke suits still look fabulous today. The same can't be said of the short shorts he's sporting above but I'll let those slide since I don't mind looking at his legs! I first saw this film when I lived in Beacon Hill in Boston and I used to love walking by Thomas Crown's house at 85 Mt. Vernon Street. The interiors were shot on a sound stage but also surprisingly don't look that dated either. Wish the same could be said of today's movies!

More Chic Advertising

Looks like chic advertising isn't just for the girls. Dunhill snapped British actor Jude Law for their Spring/Summer 2009 advertising campaign. So it's a year old, I still have boys on the brain from yesterday's post and who doesn't enjoy a little man candy on a Monday morning! I'd much rather look at him than all those emails that are piled up from the weekend!

New Moon on the Rise

I didn't get the Twilight hype last year so I didn't see the film until it was available on DVD. I don't think I will be making that mistake with New Moon. I mean, who wouldn't want to see a movie staring this handsome hunk of man candy?! For more photos of Rob Pattinson, check out the December 2009 issue of Vanity Fair. Thanks Graydon!

Triple Threat Miles Fisher

Dark haired preppy boys are my kryptonite. But in the case of Miles Fisher, he's as easy on the ears as he is the eyes. Not content with acting alone, he's also releasing a album of melodious music. Did I also mention he's also Harvard educated? Why should all rock stars be grungy bad boys who look like they need a long hot shower. If more musicians went to Harvard like Miles Fisher and Chester French, maybe they wouldn't end up loosing all their money or appearing on cheesy reality shows on VH1. Note to Pharrell Williams, you better scoop up this pretty prepster before someone else beats you to it. He looks and sounds like the next big triple threat. Which is why I may have to talk to my friend Jessica's husband about putting him in his next movie. I also definitely see a Ralph Lauren modeling contract in his future. I'm off now to discuss my agent commission with Miles. The rest of you can thank me for the photos later!

The Sport of Kings and Hot Men

If you need something to do Saturday, May 30th, then I suggest you head over to Governors Island for some champagne and divot stomping at the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic. Usually polo is played in more bucolic settings like Bridgehampton or Argentina so a match in Manhattan seems a bit out of place but not completely without precedent. Apparently, they used to play polo on the island in the 1930's and 40's. Who knew?! Britian's spare heir, Prince Harry will be playing, as will the only man capable of upstaging royalty, the muy caliente Nachos Figueras. Better start brushing up on your Spanish now ladies because where there is one handsome Argentine polo player, there are many! Adios Amigos!

The Lifeguard: Part Deux

Photographer Matt Albiani and fashion designer Michael Bastian are friends who just happened to both have lifeguards on their mind recently. (And thanks to Matt's photos in my last post, I think we all do now!) Michael's spring 2009 menswear line was inspired by the 1975 move The Lifeguard which I had never even heard of but I hope Netflix has because I think it's going to be very popular very soon! More importantly, he was inspired by the ease and sexiness of the lifeguard lifestyle. Aren't we all!

I checked out the collection at the Bergdorf's men's store recently and wished I had a boyfriend to shop for because the clothes are preppy but slim fitting and sexy. A perfect combination! Matt and Michael were also a perfect combination. Michael hosted Matt's book party for Lifeguard on Duty at Bergdorf's and you can ogle the photos on display in Michael's section until the book comes out in June. Too bad it's not summer now! Bon Weekend!
